To add an exotic flair to your next warming morning bowl of oats, why not try this Ayurvedic-inspired spiced oatmeal recipe?

Ingredients
1 cup of rolled organic oats
4 tablespoons of coconut flakes
1 cup of plant-based milk (we used cashew mylk here, which made it extra creamy)
1 cup of water
1 1/2 teaspoons turmeric powder
1 teaspoon Garam Masala
1 teaspoon of mixed spice
1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
2 teaspoons of coconut sugar
Top with fruits, nuts, sweetness, and yoghurt of your choice
Instructions
In a small saucepan on low heat dry fry the spices for 10-20 seconds before adding the water, milk, and oats.
Stir continuously until the oats begin to absorb the liquid.
Just before you turn the heat off add the coconut sugar, doing a final mix to combine.
Top with fruit of your choice, honey, yoghurt, and nuts. Here we had a ripe banana, some strawberries, and local honey.
