These sweet treats are perfect for those who are still trying to find their sea legs on a rough and rolly passage. Ginger has long been regarded as a nausea remedy, settling an upset stomach, gently warming and soothing the gut when you might be feeling a bit queasy.

Ingredients
5 Medjool dates
½ cup of coconut flakes
1 cup of almonds
1 tablespoon of freshly grated ginger
3 heaped teaspoons of cacao
4 tablespoons of coconut oil
Instructions
Remove the seeds of each of the dates before adding these and the other ingredients to a small benchtop blender.
Blitz until well combined and mixture begins to form a ball.
Using a tablespoon to measure out the portions, roll a spoonful in the palms of your hands to form a tight ball. Repeat until all the mixture has been used.
Refrigerate the balls for a few hours until they are firm to touch.
Makes approximately 12 balls

Not only does this mid passage munchie have medicinal qualities for those battling signs of seasickness, they are also loaded with healthy fats to satisfy you for longer if you don’t feel like eating a big meal whilst underway.
